Apparently this is the first VCR that was released in america. The model came out in 1977 but this one was made in 1980. I had to remove 29 years of dust in order to make it work. The sound was just horrible but with some help from an electronic technician I managed to make it work and now it works like a brand new one. People are asking me why didn't I just by a new VCR (I already have one by the way)? Some people like to listen to old vinyl with an old turntable. Watching Star Wars on a VCR that is almost as old as the movie for me is priceless. I always use it to watch my VHS tapes. This is the RCA SelectaVision VBT-501
