Unfortunately I thew away many tapes due to poor condition and splices breaking; including an Elvis tape, Hotel California by the Eagles, and Dreams by Fleetwood Mac. Even so, I still have more 8-tracks than vinyl and cassettes combined! This thing probably had not run in several years, as everything was VERY scratchy at first, but after running tapes through it over the last several months everything sounds much better. Still has issues with showing it on the wrong program (the LED for program 2 lights up when this song is actually on program 1), and its handle is broken off. The Zenith Stereo Console from the other video also plays 8-tracks, but it's player is broken; it won't switch programs.

This stereo is the first one i have ever gotten. it is only 5w per channel, but has good sound. aux input, dual cassette, and a CD player that is CD-R/CD-RW compatible. Got it for christmas one year, and about, 4 or 5 years ago i stopped using this one in my room and put it in dad's workshop. But all in all it was a fair sounding and performing stereo. video taken on my ipod nano. and is in mono... (wish it wasn't so you could hear the clarity Xx)

I have sped this video up to 8 times the original speed, so it's not actually half an hour long. There is not sound because it would sound like a cassette tape rewinding or fast forwarding. I added no music because I don't want a copyright train dropped on my face, and I couldn't think of something that would have fit this video well. Just listen to your mp3 player, walkman, CD player, 8-track, or record. You could even make engine noises or something.

Ingredients 1 x old portable audio system or suitable 12v amplifer. 1 x piece of corrugated cardboard. 2 x Speaker enclosure rated to portable audio system. 1 x 12v Sealed Lead acid battery. 1 x 250ml bottle of copydex or other quick drying "safe" adhesive. Other requirements. Bicyle with suitable mounting rack. Knives, scissors and sticky tape. Instructions. Open portable audio system and locate un-needed items, ie. transformer, cd player, radio, cassette decks, minidiscs etc. Remove these and connect 12v battery to battery connectors on the portable audio system. Remove loudspeakers from boxes and construct a new home for them from the cardboard. Use the original dimensions as a guide to maintain best acoustic qualities. IMPORTANT: Consider how they will attach to your bicycle before beginning this. Seal boxes and connect them to the amplifer, then connect the amplifer to your chosen MP3 player. Mount them on bicycle and ride.

Have some fun with this. There are a few other videos on YouTube about chicken sounds from a cup so I didn't go into a lot of detail. ScienceBob has a good video on YouTube about making one of these also. Just this morning I experimented around and used a long animal balloon instead of string and came up with a "fretless" practice washtub-type bass. Obviously this works on the same principle and you don't need a stick for a fretboard as you employ the elasticity of the balloon instead. I made this video in one take so please forgive the pauses as I try to think of what to say next. The yellow jacket distracted me at first. I think it liked the colorful jester hat. I was going to redo the video but then decided to upload it just the way it is. Hope you enjoy it and if you do please leave a comment. Thanks for watching!" Tallinn is the capital city, located about 50 miles south of Helsinki, Finland, across the Baltic sea. As the currency exchange rate was very favorable at that time, I was able to do this project in Tallinn at a fraction of the cost in the USA. My earliest memories of listening to Meat Loaf are when I was about 4 or 5. We did not buy a vehicle with a CD player until 1996, so for the first half of the 1990s, every single car we owned had a tape player. The 1993 Blazer was no exception. This is a live 1982 rehearsal of Led Zeppelin's Rock And Roll from the Live Album/Movie Soundtrack, played by Mario's Band: John Saja - vocals Mike (Boom Boom) Borror - bass Eddie Picard - drums Robbie Daug - guitar This was September 1982. We used to practice upstairs of a Montreal restaurant called, Mario Submarine. Seeing as our band never went as far as having a name, we decided to call ourselves, Mario's Band. This was a rehearsal, and it's for that reason why we were playing it a bit slower. We were all 22 years old when we recorded this. We recorded this with a portable Pioneer tape player/radio which was strategically placed in the hall to record all of us as best as possible with the built in stereo microphones. My guitar sound, by the way, is coming from a blonde Ibanez (Blazer Series) going into an original 1970's Electroharmonix Big Muff (before there were lights on them) and an MXR Dynacomp (compressor) and ending up in a Roland Cube 60 amp. There is no video so i just took a video of the wave editor on my screen after i copied the song from a audio cassette to my hard drive so i could record the playback in mpeg format. In early 1976 Buster Crabbe rose from the wreckage of pub rock legends Bontemps Roulez after their rhythm section, Andrew Bodnar (bass) and Steve Goulding (drums) left to join Graham Parker and The Rumour. Steve (Van-Deller) Bonnett (lead guitar / vocals) and ex Chilli Willi member Paul (Diceman) Bailley (vocals / tenor sax / guitar) carried on with a new rhythm section, Neil Brockbank (bass) and Mike Gaffey (drums). A few months later they added (Accrington) Stan Shaw (organ). About 18 months later Paul Bailley played his last gig with the band at The Music Machine in Camden Town, London. The rest of the band carried on for another year or so, adapting their sound to suit the prevailing style of punk, and had they held out for another year their later style could have seen them fitting in with the Two Tone scene. This recording was made at one of the bands earliest gigs at The Red Cow (Hammersmith, London) on October 27th 1976, recorded on a Phillips portable cassette player by Raggy Lewis of The Stukas. Stan Shaw hadn't yet joined the band and the name Buster Crabbe was a temporary one, as they intended to continue as Bontemps Roulez once the new lineup was broken in. This wasn't to be. Sounds journalist Chas De Whalley gave them such a glowing review of this gig that they stuck with the temporary name, later shortening it to The Crabbes to appear more punky! This thing I got at a flea market. It must be very rare indeed. It may be from the '40s or early '50s. Of course it's vacuum tube. I replaced the drive belt and recapped the signal capacitors in the amp, thus greatly improving performance. I will later make a video showing the recording function and it in more detail. There, as I found on the Net, I found that there was another Dormiphone unit that used a record player. But this one is tape. I found that these machines were used in the past to play subliminal messages to people while sleeping, to help learn a language or remember something. I also heard that they were used in research in ESP and dream telepathy. The clock works on this and all those switch things around it are switches to turn the machine on and off at times in the night, just like those plug-in timers for turning lights on and off to keep away robbers. Although I have the original microphone to this, it is dead unfortunately.

Sony introduced their line of products for children in 1987 and this was one of the most popular items, a portable cassette recorder. Playback quality is actually very good and although it is DC bias, the recording still sounds fairly acceptable. This one works flawlessly despite probably being at least 20 years old -- it was built back when Sony was still synonymous with high quality electronics... today, not so much!

Well I finally figured out how to make one of these. I still need to make a box but its done for the most part. I used a cassette player out of a 92 Cavalier and 2 6x9 speakers out of a 93 Sunbird. HOWTO: 1. Find yourself a computer power supply (I recommend 300w or better) 2. Take said power supply and snip the green wire. 3. Now snip a black wire, and crimp the green and black wire together. 4. Now, take your 'Constant', 'Ignition Switched', and 'Illumination' (optional) wire and crimp all 3 into one end of a crimp, then snip a yellow wire from the power supply and crimp it to the other end. 5. Snip a different black wire from the power supply and crimp it to the Ground wire from the radio. 6. Turn power supply on, and you got yourself a ghetto boom-box. If it didn't work, you did something wrong, go over these directions again :P

Philips EL-3302 Compact Cassette Recorder made in 1965 Video Clips. Duration : 9.82 Mins.
This is the Mk 3 from Philips made in 1965. It was an attempt to improve on the looks of the EL3300 and 3301. Spot the differences, the circuit design was changed, to now use 10 transistors, to improve sound playback and recording (max freq response 10KHz). later units had further improvements and these units were referred to as variants ie the 3302A in 1967, and the further improved 3302G in 1968 and so on. Though all variants were still known as the EL-3302 in sales literature. This tape recorder made an appearance in the Bollywood film AAP AAYE BAHAR AAYI made in 1971. I will post a clip of it!

This is a live 1982 rehearsal of Babe Ruth's The Mexican, played by Mario's Band: John Saja - vocals, tamborine Mike (Boom Boom) Borror - bass Eddie Picard - drums Robbie Daug - guitar This was September 1982. We used to practice upstairs of a Montreal restaurant called, Mario Submarine. Seeing as our band never went as far as having a name, we decided to call ourselves, Mario's Band. Poor John, we should have done songs by The Rolling Stones or The Doors because that's the type of voice he had. Even though this song was really out of John's vocal range, he still did a pretty good job. We were all 22 years old when we recorded this. We recorded this with a portable Pioneer tape player/radio which was strategically placed in the hall to record all of us as best as possible with the built-in stereo microphones. Don't mind when it starts, the other three pressured me to try to play the opening of this song (i never tried to learn it as i knew we would never use it on stage). The first bit got erased over the years, and this is what's left of it. I hope you like this. My guitar sound, by the way, is coming from a blonde Ibanez (Blazer Series) going into an original 1970's Electroharmonix Big Muff (before there were lights on them) and an MXR Dynacomp (compressor) and ending up in a Roland Cube 60 amp. There is no video so i just took a video of the wave editor on my screen after i copied the song from a audio cassette to my hard drive so i could record the play back in mpeg ...
