UPDATE: This turntable's pickup was upgraded to an Ortofon X5-MC high output moving coil cartridge. New video will follow shortly.... Sony PS-X600 Automatic Turntable with the Biotracer Computer-Controlled Tonearm and Ortofon VMS-20EO Magnetic Cartridge with overhang adjusted to Stevenson (not as good as a fine moving coil, but it's good nonetheless). Sony STR-DA4ES 7.1 Stereo/Digital Surround Receiver driving a pair of Optimus Mach Three speakers (the receiver may not be in the same league as separates and the speakers won't compare to high end Klipsch speakers, but they hold their own). The STR-DA4ES employs a 32-bit engine for digital audio decoding and DSP, although the receiver is running in analog direct for the phonograph. The power amplifier is class A/B with Sony's Clean Spontaneous Twin Drive power supply system. The receiver, cassette deck (not shown), and CD player (not shown) are all Sony ES. The turntable is the only Sony audio source component that is not ES.
